Writer, Journalist, Editor
Lucy L. Middleton is a writer, journalist and editor based in London. She is currently the Thomson Reuters Foundation's LGBTQ+ correspondent, and was previously deputy editor of Openly, its award-winning global LGBTQ+ news platform. She has written and commissioned original stories from more than 25 countries across six continents, and reported on the ground from South Africa, Romania, Bulgaria, Denmark, and Germany.

​Prior to joining TRF, Lucy was an assistant news editor at the Mirror Online, a senior news reporter at Metro.co.uk, and a broadcast journalist for Deutsche Welle's business desk in Berlin. She was previously a columnist for the Reader's Digest, and has bylines with Reuters, Gay Times and the Mail Online among others.
Lucy is currently a senior fellow at the John Schofield Trust and has advocated for mental health issues on BBC Radio Scotland and Metro.co.uk.
